Awareness Program in Arya Samaj, Greater Kailash-I

Several social and religious organisations namely, Arya Samaj GK-I, Pahariwala Gurdwara GK-I, RWAs N-Block & W-Block GK-I, Greater Kailash Vyapari Sangathan M-Block GK-I and Kailash Resident Welfare Association with Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti organised an awareness program on Eyes-Organ-Body donation after death in the cause of humanity on Sunday the 15th January, 2017 from 9 to 11 AM in Arya Samaj Kailash, Greater Kailash-I, New Delhi.

Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, MP was the Chief Guest and Sh. Alok Kumar, President,Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti was the main speaker. Sardar Swaran Singh Bhandari, President, Pahariwala Gurdwara GK-I was the Guest of Honour. Sh. Kamal Khurana, Convener, South Delhi, Dadhichi Deh Dan Samiti presided over the function. Shri Vijay Lakhanpal, President, Arya Samaj GK-I, Sh. Raman Mehta, President, W-Block RWA GK-I, Sh. Raja Puri, President, RWA N-Block GK-I, Shri Harish Bharadwaj, President, Kailash Colony RWA, Sh. Babbu Chopra, Kailash Colony Mkt Association, Sh. Amit Sethi, M-Block Mkt Association, Sh. Sanjiv Shahi, President, Hemkunt RWA, Sh. Sanjay Sood, President, RWA GK-I Enclave, etc. participated in the program alongwith about 150 devotees.

Sh. Kamal Khurana invited the guests for inaugurating the program with lighting of the ceremonial lamp with chanting of mantras by Shastri ji. Then he briefly described the objective and activities of the Samiti. Sh. Vijay Lakhanpalji welcomed all guests and cited the body donation as the supreme donation in the cause of humanity. He urged all to come forward for this donation. Sardar Swaran Singh Bhandari cited the various writings from Guru Granth Sahib supporting body-organ donation. He declared to take pledge for his body donation after death.

Smt. Meenakhsi Lekhi, MP addressed the gathering and emphasised the need and importance of body-organ donation. She mentioned that if all the persons voluntarily donate eyes after death then corneal blindness can be eradicated from the country in just few days. She informed that steps are being taken by Government to increase the facilities for organ transplantation to improve health of citizens.

Sh. Alok Kumar in his key-note address discussed the various aspects like social, scientific, religious, medical, psychological, etc., relating to body-organ donation. Starting with the taking pledge more than twenty years ago to donate his body after death, he shared his several past experiences related to donations in the long journey of the Samiti. He informed that several religious leaders like Pujya Didimaa Sadhvi Ritambhara ji, Morari Bapu ji, Shri Shri Ravishankar ji, Lokesh Muni ji, Roopchandra ji maharaj, etc. have been interviewed by the Samiti. They have all supported this noble cause, urging all to take pledge for donation after death. Their videos are uploaded on you-tube. He replied to all the queries of the participants relating to body-organ donation to their entire satisfaction.

Sh. Raman Mehta and several other participants announced their resolve to take pledge for body donation after death. Many people made enquiries at the counter of the Samiti and collected the forms. The program ended with the singing of Vande Mataram followed by prasad.

वरिष्ठ नागरिक समिति के वार्षिकोत्सव मे देह दान, अंग दान के विषय में चर्चा

वरिष्ठ नागरिक समाज,वसुन्धरा ने 15 जनवरी 2017 को एस०जी०इम्प्रैशन के सामुदायिक भवन में अपना वार्षिकोत्सव एवम वरिष्ठ नागरिक सम्मान कार्यक्रम मनाया। 160 से भी अधिक सदस्यो वाली वरिष्ठ नागरिक समाज एक पंजीकृत संस्था है । आज के वार्षिकोत्सव में 100 के लगभग सदस्यों की भगीदारी रही।

दधिचि देह दान समिति,गाजियाबाद की आेर से श्री राकेश अग्रवाल श्रीमती राज अग्रवाल तथा श्रीमती संध्या सक्सेना जी ने प्रतिनिधित्व किया । लगभग 20 मिनिट राकेश जी ने देह दान अंग दान के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला। वर्तमान समय की व्यस्ततम दिन चर्या,खान पान, रहन सहन ने जिस प्रकार से हमारे शरीर व अंगो पर प्रभाव डाला है उससे अंगो के प्रत्यारोपण़ तथा अंगो की आवश्यकता व उपलब्धता पर संक्षिप्त प्रकाश डाला । कार्नियल अंधता के निवारण, मेडिकल कालेजो में मृतदेह(कैडेवर) की कमी पर भी संक्षिप्त चर्चा की गयीं। और सबसे अंत में समाज में व्याप्त भ्रम तथा भ्रान्तियो की शंका निवारण तथा द ेह दान अंग दान के विषय में अन्य शंका समाधान श्रीमती संघ्या सक्सेना व श्रीमती राज अग्रवाल जी ने व्यक्तिगत रूप से महिला व पुरूषो से मिल कर किया।

दधिचि देह दान समिति-दिल्ली द्वारा प्रकाशित 100 से भी अधिक पत्रकों का वितरण तथा जिज्ञासु बंधुओं को देह दान,अंग दान के संकल्प पत्रों का भी संघ्या जी द्वारा वितरण किया गया। विषय में कई व्यक्तियों ने रुचि दिखाई और आशा है समाज में इस विषय में व्याप्त शंकाओं का समाधन होगा और अभियान को और गति मिल सकेगी। यहाँ यह भी उल्लेखनीय है कि वरिष्ठ नागरिक समिति, वसुन्धरा के अध्यक्ष के परिवार में स्वयं भी समिति के माध्यम से देह दान,अंग दान का संकल्प किया हुआ है।

रक्त दान शिविर का आयोजन

स्वतंत्रता संग्राम सेनानी नेताजी सुभाष चन्द्र बोस के जन्म दिवस पर 22 जनवरी, 2017 को उत्तर दिल्ली में छह स्थानों पर रक्त दान शिविर का आयोजन किया गया। आयोजन राष्ट्रीय स्वयंसेवक संघ के उत्तर दिल्ली विभाग ने किया। इस अवसर पर दधीचि देह दान समिति ने भारत विकास परिषद के अनुरोध पर सभी छह स्थानों पर देह दान और अंग दान पर जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए स्टाॅल लगाए। ये स्थान थे: सम्पूर्णा केन्द्र, सेक्टर 9, रोहिणी; बालाजी मन्दिर, सेक्टर 11, रोहिणी; वरिष्ठ नागरिक मनोरंजन केन्द्र, पीतमपुरा; झूलेलाल मन्दिर, शालीमार बाग; डेरावाल नगर तथा बी-ब्लाॅक, सेक्टर 15, रोहिणी। प्रत्येक स्टाॅल पर समिति के 5-6 कार्यकर्ताओं को ज़िम्मेदारी सौंपी गई। देह/अंग दान के लिए सभी स्टाॅल्स से कुल मिला कर 84 संकल्प पत्र भी प्राप्त हुए। उल्लेखनीय बात यह रही कि उत्तर दिल्ली में समिति के कारवां में दो नए इलाके नरेला और कंझावला भी जुड़ गए। इस आयोजन की सफलता दधीचि देह दान समिति के अध्यक्ष श्री आलोक कुमार के उद्गार से स्पष्ट हो गई। उन्होंने कहा, ‘प्रश्न यह नहीं है कि हमें छह स्टाॅल्स से 84 संकल्प पत्र मिले, प्रसन्नता की बात यह है कि देह/अंग दान के महत्व का संदेश हम इतने परिवारों तक पहुंचा पाए और उन्हें प्रेरित कर पाए।’

दधीचि देहदान समिति - गाज़ियाबाद क्षेत्र

दधीचि देहदान समिति, गाज़ियाबाद क्षेत्र से कार्यकारी सदस्य श्रीमती संध्या सक्सेना के विशेष सहयोग से नोएडा सैक्टर 63 स्थित एक्स्ट्रामार्क्स एजुकेशन इंडिया प्राइवेट लिमिटेड के लगभग 150 कर्मचारिओं में से 88 ने अंगदान-देहदान का संकल्प लिया । संस्था की इच्छानुसार, 25 जनवरी 2017 को श्री अविनाश चन्द्र वर्मा व श्रीमती संध्या सक्सेना दान से संबन्धित उनके प्रपत्र उनके संस्थान में देने गए । यह विशेष रूप से उल्लेखनीय है कि 88 दानियों में 2 ईसाई व 3 मुस्लिम दानी शामिल हैं । यह हमारे देश में सामाजिक समरसता की एक पहचान है । इस संस्था व इसके कर्मचारिओं का हृदय से आभार कि उन्होंने इस महत्वपूर्ण कल्याण कार्य में सहभागिता की है।

यमुना विहार में दधीचि देहदान समिति का स्टाॅल

19 फरवरी को यमुना विहार में श्री श्यामा बाबा सेवा समिति द्वारा महोत्सव का आयोजन किया। इस अवसर पर दधीचि देहदान समिति उत्तरी क्षेत्र द्वारा स्टाल लगाया गया।

कार्यक्रम में आए अनेक लोगों ने स्टाल के आकर देहदान-अंगदान संबंधित विषय पर जानकारी ली। लगभग 20 महानुभावों ने फाॅर्म भरें।

स्टाॅल में समिति के अध्यक्ष श्री आलोक कुमार, श्री सुधीर गुप्ता, महेश, योगेन्द्र अग्रवाल, बाबू राम शर्मा, राजीव गुप्ता, रजत अग्रवाल, अमित िसंगला, हरीश शर्मा उपस्थित रहे।

श्री श्यामा बाबा सेवा समिति के पदाधिकारियों ने भी समिति को भरपूर सहयोग दिया व आश्वासन दिया कि भविष्य में हर कार्यक्रम में समिति को स्टाॅल लगाने का स्थान दिया जायेगा।

‘Celebration of Life’ in Pahariwala Gurdwara, Greater Kailash-I

An event ‘Celebration of Life’ to spread awareness about body-organ donation was organised by Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee in association with Dadhichi Dehdan Samiti on Sunday, the 19th February 2017 from 11AM to 1PM in the Bhandari Hall of the Gurdwara. Sh. Kamal Khurana, Convener South Delhi, Dadhichi Dehdan Samiti presided over the function and conducted it gracefully adhering to the time schedule.

The program started with shabad from Guru Granth Sahib originally written by Sant Kabir Das ji. Ragi Gurnam Singh ji of the Gurdara had recited and recorded the shabad to be played in the event. The message from the shabad was that when a human dies then it is not of any use to society, but when an animal dies, its body still serves the society in several ways.

Dr. Sohinder Kaur, Director Professor, Lady Harding Medical College addressed the sangat speaking in Punjabi. Quoting the shabad played earlier, she informed that with the advancement in medical science, the concern shown by Sant Kabir ji has now been addressed as the body of dead humans (cadavers) are also useful to the society. She told that body and organ donation was first permitted under Bombay Anatomy Act and later similar Acts were passed by other states. She explained the requirement and usefulness of such donations for the suffering patients by organ transplant and the medical students to study anatomy and for medical research. The students are taught to be respectful to the cadavers for the supreme donation. She appealed the sangat to take pledge for donation.

Dr. Sheetal Joshi, Asstt. Professor, Lady Harding Medical College, explained which human organs are transplantable to cure the patients. She informed that the donation process is time critical as the probability of success of transplant diminishes with delay in retrieval and transplantation. She also explained the process of preserving cadavers for about 2 years for study of anatomy by medical students.

Sardar S.S. Bhandari, President, Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee expressed gratitude to the sangat for participating in large number as the sikh community is always in the forefront in all humanitarian causes. He declared that he will also take pledge for donation and urged sangat to register for donation in large numbers. He assured full support of Gurdwara in every possible way for this noble cause.

Shri Alok Kumar, President, Dadhichi Dehdan Samiti informed about the activities of the Samiti and the process of registration for donation during life and execution of donation after death. He shared his experiences during the last 20 years of the working of Samiti.

Sh. Raman Mehta, Convener, Greater Kailash, Dadhichi Dehdan Samiti presented the vote of thanks to the sangat, the speakers and all others concerned. Sardar Gulshan Bir Singh, Secretary, Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee was thanked for his allout support in organising the event. The sangat was invited to Guru ka Langar by him.

About 150 persons participated in the event, prominent among them were Sh. K.C. Taneja Corporater, Sardar Gulshan Bir Singh & Sardar Balbir Singh Kohli from Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Shri Rajiv Choudhary from Arya Samaj, Mr. Sahni & Ms. Leela Bisht from C-Block RWA, Dr. Sachdev & Dr. Ashok Malik from B-Block GK-I. A counter of the Samiti was manned by Smt. Manju Prabha, Smt. Babita Malhotra and Smt. Poonam Khurana during the event. Several persons collected the forms for making the pledge for donation and one form duly filled was received then and there.
